Yorkshire Referees Charity Weekend in Honour of Rob Burrow: Supporting the MND Association

As we reflect on today, September 26th, we remember that this would have marked Rob Burrow’s 42nd birthday. Sadly, it is the first that we commemorate without him. In his honour, the Yorkshire Referees Federation has designated the weekend of the 26th to the 29th of September as our charity weekend, dedicated to supporting the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.

Rob Burrow was more than just a sporting legend; he was an inspiration. His courage in facing MND touched many lives, particularly in our rugby community. That’s why we’re calling upon our referees to join us in paying tribute to Rob and raising awareness and funds for this vital cause.

If you’re in a position to do so, we kindly ask you to consider making a voluntary donation of part or all of your travelling expenses for the matches you officiate this weekend. Every penny raised will be donated directly to the MND Association, via our JustGiving page. Your generosity could make a significant difference in the fight against MND, helping to fund research and support those living with the disease.

Yorkshire Referees have long been dedicated to giving back, and supporting charitable causes is a proud tradition of ours. The MND Association is a worthy cause, and every contribution, no matter how small, will truly count.

Thank you for your support and commitment during this special weekend.
