Long Serving Yorkshire Referees Member Retires from the RFRU Board

At a recent event, Michael Priestley, the Chair of the Rugby Football Referees Union (RFRU), led a heartfelt tribute to Allan MacGregor, marking his retirement after an impressive 27 seasons of dedicated service on the RFRU Board and its predecessor, the RFU Referee Sub-Committee.

In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the organization and the sport, Priestley presented MacGregor with an engraved slate tablet—a symbol of enduring respect and gratitude from his peers and colleagues. The tablet, carefully crafted and inscribed, serves as a lasting testament to MacGregor's unwavering commitment, leadership, and the pivotal role he has played in shaping the future of rugby officiating.

Allan MacGregor's retirement marks the end of an era, but his influence and the impact of his work will undoubtedly continue to resonate within the rugby community for years to come. As he steps down from his role, he leaves behind a strong foundation and a proud tradition of excellence that future generations of referees will continue to build upon.
